THE SHORT VERSION

Math Biomes is a learning app for young children. The parent or guardian creates the account and controls everything. We collect your email to run your account, and we collect your child's in-app learning activity to power their progress reports. We do not sell data. We do not show ads. WHO WE ARE

Math Biomes is a children's math learning app built by Curious Worlds LLC, incorporated in Delaware, USA. You can reach us at mathbiomes@gmail.com.

WHAT WE COLLECT FROM PARENTS

When a parent or guardian creates an account, we collect an email address and a password. This is used to secure your account and send you updates about your child's learning. We do not require your name or phone number. Payment information is collected only if you choose to subscribe, and is processed directly by Stripe — we never store your card details.

WHAT WE COLLECT FROM CHILDREN

We collect in-app learning activity only. This includes: which games and levels were played, whether rounds were completed or abandoned, how long each session lasted, how many attempts a round took, and categorized mistake patterns (for example, "wrong answer submitted" or "ran out of moves"). This data is tied to a child profile created by the parent and is used only to generate your parent progress reports and to adjust difficulty within the app.

We do not collect a child's name, photo, location, voice, or any contact information directly through the app. Children do not create accounts and cannot interact with any external services through Math Biomes.

HOW WE USE DATA

Learning activity data is used solely to generate your parent dashboard and printable progress reports, and to power the app's adaptive difficulty system. We do not use this data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose outside of your child's learning experience.

YOUR PROGRESS REPORTS AND DATA EXPORT

Every two weeks, on Sundays, a PDF report card summarizing your child's progress is made available in your parent dashboard. You can also request a full export of your child's activity data at any time by emailing mathbiomes@gmail.com.

VOLUNTARY PHOTO AND VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Some parents choose to share photos or videos of their child using Math Biomes as a testimonial. This is entirely optional and never requested through the app. We accept these submissions in three ways: by email to mathbiomes@gmail.com, by direct message on our social media accounts, or when a parent tags Math Biomes in a public post on Instagram or Facebook.

By submitting a photo or video — whether by email, DM, or tagging us — you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child shown and that you give Curious Worlds LLC permission to share the content on the Math Biomes website and social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook).

We use submitted photos and videos only for testimonial and marketing purposes. We do not sell them, share them with third parties, or use them for any other purpose. If you change your mind after submitting, email us at mathbiomes@gmail.com and we will remove your content promptly.

WHAT WE NEVER DO

ANALYTICS AND COOKIES ON OUR WEBSITE

Our marketing website (mathbiomes.com) uses analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the site. This may include Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which collect standard usage data such as pages visited and time on site. These tools use cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences using the consent banner on our website. We may add or change analytics tools over time and will update this section accordingly. These analytics tools are not active inside the app itself.

We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to send occasional emails to parents who sign up for our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

All data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant infrastructure provider. Parent account data and child activity data are stored in an encrypted database. Payments are processed by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We do not store payment information.

SERVICE PROVIDERS WE USE

We share data only with the vendors necessary to operate Math Biomes:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Kit (ConvertKit) — parent newsletter emails
• Google Analytics — website usage analytics
• Microsoft Clarity — website behavior analytics

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

DELETING YOUR DATA

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing mathbiomes@gmail.com. We will permanently delete all parent account data and child activity data within 30 days of your request. Note that backups may retain data for a short additional period before they are cycled out.

CORRECTING YOUR DATA

If you need to correct your email address or update your child's profile information, email us at mathbiomes@gmail.com and we will make the change promptly.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA)

Math Biomes is designed for children ages 4 to 7 and is built in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). All child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not collect contact information or personal identifiers directly from children. The learning activity data we collect from children is used exclusively for parent-facing progress reports and in-app difficulty adjustment — never for advertising or profiling. Any photos or videos featuring children are submitted voluntarily by a parent or guardian and are never solicited from or collected directly from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without parental consent, contact us immediately at mathbiomes@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
